Specializing in Interactional Linguistics and in Discourse and Grammar, her research explores the crystallization of grammatical structure from interaction. Yael has been constructing the Haifa Corpus of Spoken Hebrew since 1993, at first on her own, and starting in 2012, with the funding of three Israel Science Foundation (ISF) grants.
